 juhū' [ juhU ]


f. ( = jihvā', √ hvc ) a tongue ( esp. of Agni ; 7 are named cf. RV. i, 58, 7 ), flame cf. RV.

personified as wife of Brahmā and goddess of speech ( author of cf. RV. x, 109 ) cf. RAnukr.

( fr. √ hu cf. Pāṇ. 3-2, 178 cf. Vārtt. 3 cf. Uṇ. etc. ) a curved wooden ladle ( for pouring sacrificial butter into fire ) cf. RV. cf. AV. etc.
