f. ( etym. doubtful ) a small part of anything, any single part or portion of a whole, esp. a sixteenth part, RV. viii, 47, 17, TS. ŚBr. Mn. etc.

a digit or one-sixteenth of the moon's diameter, Hit. Kathās.
