mf ( ā' ) n. pleasant, agreeable, charming, ( esp. ) sounding or speaking pleasantly etc. cf. RV. cf. AV. cf. VS. cf. ŚāṅkhGṛ.

low, deep ( of sound ), hollow, rumbling ( am ind. ) cf. Br. etc.

m. a low tone, the low or base tone ( sthāna ) of the voice ( as opp. to the middle or madhyama and the high or uttama ) cf. RPrāt.
